Happy new year BUT must accept the fact that each and every one of us getting older, meaning getting lesser time to use of this precious human rebirth for the maximum benefits for oneself and others. So this year onward we must be serious enough to make a commitment and be mindful all through out each and every day and night to be more compassionate, more loving, more tolerance, more forgiving, more calmer, more acceptance, more understanding, more harmony, more meditation, more exercise, more peaceful within, more smiles, more kinder words, more virtues deeds and of-course less ANGER!.

Happy Birthday to our most beloved Geshe Tenzin Zopa

July 15, 2010...It’s the day before Geshe Tenzin Zopa’s 35th birthday and it also coincide with the First Turning of The Wheel Dharma Day where karmic effects of actions performed are multiplied one hundred million times.

Like always LDC organized many dharma activities such as light offerings, pot luck gathering and oral transmission was specially arranged by our Geshe Zopa himself to benefit all it’s members.

It was 8 pm when we strolled into LDC. We were late so we missed the yummy food pot luck style party which started earlier organized by all the generous and devoted members and students of Geshe Zopa and LDC.

Another wonderful year has passed with our dearest Geshe Tenzin Zopa as LDC’s resident teacher.

Due to Geshe Zopa’s kindness, he granted us over an hour of Mantra/Prayers Oral Transmission, from the very basic daily practices to those who protect us against any harm/black magic. One’s prayers will be more “powerful” after receiving such oral transmissions. Geshe-la also spent so much time explaining on the benefit and how to recite the mantras, all to benefit the members.

Immediately after the light offerings, prayers and oral transmission, a special presentation by the young girls and boys of LDC who performed 2 songs specially written for Geshe-la. Looking at Geshe-la’s expression, one can tell he is having a great time and the feeling of joy, appreciation, humour...etc. Geshe Zopa from time to time burst out laughing at how charming and fascinating they are.

Priscilla, Kwok Yan and Angeline also creatively read a special birthday message to Geshe-la while Geshe-la listened attentively. Geshe-la was also offered 2 birthday cakes, a two tiered delicious Durian Cake and another rich chocolate cake. I didn’t get to taste the chocolate cake but the durian cake was awesome. Yummy!!!

Headed by our chant leader Edwin Wong, LDC members offered a prayer of “Calling Lama From Afar” for Geshe Tenzin Zopa, dedicating to his long and healthy life.

We ended this fascinating and meritorious evening by offering gifts and katas to our ever beloved, humble, kind and generous teacher Geshe Tenzin Zopa who’s always close to our heart. It’s a small way of showing our appreciation after all the endless support, prayers, love and care Geshe-la has rendered towards his students and members of LDC.

Geshe Zopa in returned dedicated all the generosity and kindness of the members to our root teacher Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche and the numberless Buddhas.

Happy 35th Birthday Geshe Tenzin Zopa. May you continue to live a long and healthy life and may you continue to stay with us until samsara ends. With palms together, countless thanks for another awesome year being there for us whenever we are in need of spiritual guidance.

“A simple celebration, a gathering of friends, here is wishing you great happiness,
a joy that never ends”.

Geshe Tenzin Zopa’s 34th Birthday Celebration

July 16, 2009.... It’s the time of the year again where all of us come together as a family to celebrate our dearest teacher Geshe Tenzin Zopa’s 34thbirthday and we are indeed blessed to have spent another meritorious, wonderful, fulfilling and fun packed year with him. Countless thanks Geshe-la for being part of LDC and our Family!!!

That day however turned out to be an “extra special” day as we had Khadro-la visiting us and LDC combined Geshe Zopa’s birthday celebration together with Khadro-la’s welcome dinner into one big celebration. That really drew a large crowd to LDC!!!

Like always, our party was pot luck style and members took time and effort to cook, bake and some placed order of their favourite food, deserts... etc. Like all previous years, Geshe Zopa had the karma to receive so many birthday cakes and they were rich and heavenly deserts. How rejoicing!!! The food was delicious and simply irresistible. Plus there were so much food, members not only had the opportunity to eat in but take away as well. ;-D

Many students and members of LDC got involved in the preparation in one way or another for this occasion. There was plentiful of ideas that were filled with enthusiasm and hard work by everyone. A group of talented kinds from the “Dharma for Kids” class started the ball rolling with a great show and a few song presentation for Geshe Zopa and another song presentation for Khadro-a. This was followed by a rap performance by Clarence and a special birthday message for Geshe-la from all his students, written by William, Huei and myself. Geshe Zopa listened attentively when William and I (representing all LDC members) read the message to him. Please scroll down below to view those pictures taken during the pot luck, copy of rap performance and the birthday message.

Generous members of LDC also queued up to offer kata and personal offerings to both Geshe-la and Khadro-la. Such rejoicing moments!!

Not many will hear what you’ll say,

But whether you can hustle or at least portray.

Life is like a battle its one of the same,

They don’t see the face,

They just see the chains.

But you’re there when I hustle,

You’re there every time,

When I’m in the office,

Or when I am in the front line.

Your words of wisdom I will surely follow,

Taking me back and guiding my tomorrow.

In this crazy world with so much rage,

I’m a burnt book,

But you give me a new front page.

When I am down in submission,

You are there to listen,

As though its your mission,

With trust and compassion.

So when I go out thumping the streets,

I know I won’t feel samsaric defeat.

In my darkest hour you always come to me.

With your words of wisdom you set me free.

The fog is gone my eyes are no clear to see.

So even when you are close or far away,

I know you are with me everyday.

Life takes me down and makes my palms sweaty,

And yet this burden called karma is not that heavy.

You give me strength and unlimited power,

Teaching me to care and trust one another.

A guide to the trust you are my light,

That shines away through the darkest night,

And like that light that shines so bright,

You never go away without a fight.

And what I say is definitely true,

There is no one on Earth just like you.

Birthday Message from LDC members,

To our most beloved and dearest Geshe Tenzin Zopa,

Some of us have known you before you became our “Geshe-la” in LDC. At that time, you projected yourself as a simple monk but we always felt you are someone special and full of wisdom. You have always been a shy and humble person and yet accommodating and approachable. That “simple monk” is today our Geshela who has numerous students not only from Malaysia but from around the world, who treat you as their holy teacher and some even as their root guru.

Geshe-la, you are truly a person who practices what you teach. An extra ordinary person whose experience doesn’t seem to match your age, being full of wisdom and living in the six perfections. One of your special characteristics is your contagious laughter to everything, whether good or bad.

You give so much to the point of forgetting about yourself.

You are simple and you accept any food offering without any fuss or complaints even though your doctor has told you to eat certain types of food due to your poor health.

You have adjusted remarkably well in Malaysia after only two and a half years that you now speak with a Malaysian accent and some typical Malaysian words like “kiasu” and “cannot tahan”!! You’ve learned well our ways, the weather, the people, their lifestyles and all their good and bad habits.

Geshe Zopa, you are truly a 21st century Guru with extremely high standards and expectations too. You’ve set very high standard for yourself, the centre you represent and all your students and disciples. You take the trouble to go all out to learn and get to know about everything so that you can relate more to our daily lives, like attending functions, sports activities and other mundane things. This is because you have to play many roles besides being a Geshe-la. You are our Teacher, our Dharma brother, a marriage counsellor, a career, business and financial consultant, our personal doctor and health adviser, child care adviser, education consultant and a family counsellor. At times, you also play the role of an entertainer to cheer those who are feeling down and going through bad times. You also play a great host to those who visits Kopan monastery in Nepal and make them feel really like home. And how can we forget, Geshe Zopa you are also an actor, sometimes humouring us, sometimes showing the folly of our ways!!!

Geshe-la, you don’t get bored meeting with people of all levels, whether they are just a child, a difficult to handle and confused teenager, many funny and weird adults or simply old and fussy people. You tirelessly listen to people and their endless problems. You tried so many methods to communicate with everyone from all walks of life, not only to people whom you know but to strangers whom you get to know by chance (locally in Malaysia, in Kopan or around the world during your travels) or those who just decide to walk into the centre to seek help.

Due to your inquisitive nature, you are genuinely interested to know more about a person’s welfare and you easily get people to open up and talk about themselves as you always offer to lend not one but both your ears to them. You show endless love and care to everyone equally and we have no doubt you are a guru who practices equanimity.

You use so many different styles and ways to reach out to these people and spread the teaching of Shakyamuni Buddha – through teachings, publications, emails, phone, text messages, personal consultation, personal blog, LDC and FPMT website.

You are flexible and resourceful and are truly an entrepreneur in the sangha community. Through your great guru devotion, you can actualise so many big dreams that even for normal corporation would be a challenge- from building stupas, handling fund raisings and taking charge of monasteries to starring in movies. Your current “Unmistaken Child” is taking the movie world by storm and had created so much awareness for Buddhism in general! Is there anything you can’t do?? ;-)

Dearest Geshe-la, your teachings are clear, precise, full of wisdom with explicit explanations. Your way of using real life examples only reinforce the teachings and we rejoice at your endless patience with everyone with their “ridiculous and repetitive” questions. Your dharma classes are truly enjoyable with the way you inject humour, satire and creative ways to ensure that the lessons cut through the clutter of our ignorant minds.

Your direct, ‘no nonsense’ way of teachings and giving real-life examples has mesmerized your students, creating quite amongst us, quite an addiction to your teachings! Without the need for a translator, you are able to communicate with us directly. How precious!

Without forgetting the root of the teachings, you are very strict to all your students to practice all rituals, teachings and practices according to the unbroken lineage of Shakyamuni Buddha. Geshe-la, you are no different from any Buddha and his teachings. You represent the 84,000 teachings of holy dharma and through you, you have opened the doors to enlightenment for many of us and we are indeed blessed to have you in our lives. Thank you Geshe-la! No words can express our appreciation to you! We promise never to take you and your presence for granted and we will continue to treasure every moment we have with you as you have thought us well enough to practice ‘impermanence’.

Geshe Tenzin Zopa, please, please, please continue to live long and healthily and turn the wheel of dharma in Malaysia in particularly in Losang Dragpa Centre, and to benefit everyone of your devoted disciples and students with your holy advice, teachings and your presence here.

Everyone of us here in LDC, with much love and endless devotion, wishes you a wonderful 34th birthday filled with limitless power to accomplish all your Dharma works and loads of happiness and fun on this special day and always, and may you continue to have many great years ahead and may we have the glorious karma to spend those wonderful years with you.

We like to include this message to you with a special paragraph taken from the text “Words of My Perfect Teacher”...

Geshe-la ...

You are the great ship carrying us beyond the seas of samsaric existence,

The true navigator, unerring charting the sublime path,

The rain of nectar quenching the inferno of emotions and actions,

The sun and moon dispelling the darkness of ignorance,

You are the earth, immensely patient,

The wish granting tree, source of help and happiness,

The perfect vase containing the treasure of the Dharma,

You provide all things, more than a wish-granting gem,

You are a father and mother, loving all equally,

Your compassion is as vast and swift as a great river,

Your joy is unchanging like the king of mountains,

Your impartiality cannot be disturbed, like rain from a cloud.

Our dear Geshe Tenzin Zopa, we conclude this message by respectfully requesting Geshe-la’s forgiveness to all us members and students for any wrong action of body, speech and mind that we have committed towards Geshe-la. Delusions sit heavily in our minds and thus need Geshe-la’s compassion to forgive us.

Geshe-la, we beseech and supplicate to you to please have a long and stable life and remain with us here at LDC to turn the wheel of Dharma, until each and every one of us attain enlightenment. Please Geshe-la, remain with us for this purpose, please Geshe-la never leave us for this reason and may the holy Dharma flourish in Malaysia and in this whole universe because Geshe-la chooses to remain with us to guide us to enlightenment. Please live long, please live long, please live long!!!

Your birthday makes this day very special... just like you!

Happy birthday Geshe Zopa!!!

Happy Birthday To Our Most Beloved Geshe Tenzin Zopa

Geshe Zopa turned 33 this July 16 and we at LDC had the collective karma, merits and opportunities to celebrate this special day with him. Due to GZ’s absence, LDC arranged GZ’s birthday to coincide with Kuan Yin’s enlightenment day which falls on July 21. Tenzin Gyurme Rinpoche and 8 other sanghas from Drati Kamtsen who’s here for their fund raising were also present to join in this auspicious celebration. The ambience was comfortable and there were quite a big turnout to celebrate both the event.

The wonderful thing about this type of celebration is the way all members jointly work together to organize the event. Everyone chip in with their contribution of food - pot luck style and arranged many sumptuous and delicious dishes ranging from Indian to Chinese cuisine. We also had a chance to chill out and stay cool with thirst quenching cocktail drinks. And for all the cake lovers, check out all the beautiful, divine and sinful rich cakes offered by members and friends from both Malaysia and Singapore. I bet you will fall in love with the food photos in the blog. It was truly a sign of real abundance of food offering. Rejoice! There were so much food and cakes that we all continue to indulge for the next few days (yummy).

As usual ... our extremely shy Geshe Zopa had to be invited several times to take his stand for the cake cutting. His message was to offer all these beautiful cakes and offerings to all the gurus and buddhas and this birthday is also for everyone. All the beautiful decorations are to be visualised as jewels in the mandala for offering. Om Ah Hum, Om Ah Hum, Om Ah Hum... Rejoice!! After all the satisfying meal we ended the evening with a guided meditation on Om Mani Padme Hum led by GZ followed by extensive light and flower offering.

These pictures were taken during the celebration in LDC.

Some of us have also organised a little outing with GZ in advance to celebrate his birthday last month. Perhaps we can say that we anticipated him to be away to Penang, Singapore and Nepal for quite a while and we surely didn’t want to miss spending this special and wonderful day with him. Kiasu lar! Again due to GZ’s merits, he had 2 great looking (and again sinful) birthday cakes. Infact, we wanted to do it different so we requested Siok Hong of Celicakes to bake us cupcakes with GZ’s name and arranged in heart shape. It was very delicious indeed.

“To the world you might be one person... but to us you are the world. Happy Birthday Dearest Geshe Tenzin Zopa”

May you continue to live a long and healthy life filled with peace, love and harmony and may all your spiritual and mundane wishes be instantly fulfilled.

These are some pictures taken during our wonderful luncheon.

Wesak in Malaysia, Singapore and Himalaya (TSUM)

This year Wesak was extremely meaningful. I had the opportunity to take 8 Mahayana Precept and various practices with the inspiration of so many people. At the same time I got the chance to travel to Amithabha Buddhist Centre, Singapore to attend Khen Rinpoche’s teachings joined by the large group from Malaysia to attend his long life puja which is very important practice for long and healthy life of both gurus as well as students.

The long life pujas was very well organized much to the delight of everyone. Although the journey from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore is quite long, everyone felt the trip was extremely fulfilling.

By the great merit of everyone in the group, we also had the opportunity to visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in China Town, Singapore. We were all greeted by Benny who’s one of the temple key personnel. He took us on a tour of the whole place including viewing the relics of the Buddhas, Tathagatas and holy beings. By viewing, these relics enable them to establish great connections with the holy beings. We were also fortunate to meet the Abbot of the temple. Everyone was very inspired and amazed with the size and how the temple was built.

Immediately after the long life puja, the Malaysian group had a private audience with Khen Rinpoche. With the permission of Khen Rinpoche and Ven Lhundup, we had the opportunity to view and receive great blessing of all the holy relics of the Great Mahasiddha Geshela Lama Konchog. This exhibition granted the opportunity to thousands of people in Singapore during the few days of Wesak hosted and organized by Amitabha Buddhist Centre. The director and members of both centres expressed great gratitude and rejoice in the great success of the exhibition. Through this exhibit, many people were introduced not only to Amitabha Buddhist Centre but in particularly to dharma and connection to the Buddha’s emanation body (the relics).

These holy relics were also placed for viewing and blessing in Thekchen Choeling Centre for one day.

By now, the holy relics have returned to Relic Shrine in Kopan Monastery. There are still a lot of invitation of hosting of relics to various parts of the world mainly Ladak in Himalaya, Taiwan as well as Australia. I would say all this depends on the sincerity and the merit of the people receiving the blessings.

So it is indeed really rejoicing and I hope that all the people from the different parts of the world had the most meaningful Wesak by accumulating extensive merits and purifying numerous obstacles.

On top of all that, one of the greatest satisfaction I had this Wesak is the opportunity to organize 1 million recitation of Guru Padmasambhava mantra and 1 million Compassionate Buddha mantra as well as many sets of the Compassionate Buddha Nyung Nya especially focussing on the practice of taking the 8 Mahayana Precept. These are conducted not only by sanghas but by the lay people of Tsum in Rachen Nunnery and Mu Monastery led by the founder Drukpa Rinpoche and the respected Geshe Tenzin Choklek. These practices are dedicated especially to the victim of the Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar and Earthquake in Sichuan, China and for whatever present and future natural and manmade disasters in the world to be completely purified caused by negative karma.

May whoever sees this message, able to accumulate great amount of merits by rejoicing on this practices and immediately dedicate the merits accumulated for the same purpose. This will definitely benefit the victims.

Many thanks also goes out to all the sincere, humble and dedicated lifelong practitioners monks and nuns in Rachen Nunnery and Mu Monastery in Tsum and specially heartfelt thanks to Rinpoche and Geshela. Of course the root cause is all due to the kindness of our root guru Kyabje Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, Khen Rinpoche and the late Geshela Lama Konchog.

Happy Saka Dawa !! From Amitabha Buddhist Centre (Singapore)

Dear Everyone

During Vesak Celebration 2008, Amitabha Buddhist Centre was greatly honoured to host the Relics Exhibition of the Great Mahasiddha Geshe Lama Konchog. Many people were blessed and inspired by the holy presence of Geshe-la's relics. On Vesak Day, we have accumulated the liberation of about 100 million animals. We joyously dedicate these merits to the long and healthy lives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Khen Rinpoche Lama Lhundrup, Phuntsok Rinpoche, Geshe Chonyi, Geshe Zopa, and all FPMT Sangha.

We offer our deepest thanks to our Gurus for their blessings. May all their Dharma wishes be successfully accomplished.

This Saka Dawa, we will be conducting Medicine Buddha Puja, Guru Puja and Shakyamuni Puja with 1,000 offerings. Through the accumulation of merit and wisdom, may Amitabha Buddhist Centre continue to benefit many living beings, and be the cause for their full enlightenment.

Heartfelt Thanks from Thekchen Choeling (Singapore)

Dear all

During the auspicious period of Vesak , Singapore was blessed to be able to welcome the inspiring precious relics of His Eminence Geshe Lama Konchog. On a bright Saturday morning Thekchen Choling (Singapore) welcomed Geshe-la’s relics. Everyone was amazed at the range of relics brought very kindly to Singapore by Ven Thubten Lhundrup and which remained in the main gompa for the next two days. We were overjoyed when after much consideration, Ven Thubten Lhundrup agreed to have Geshe-la’s relics remain at the temple overnight . Some students and staff kept vigil through the night . Many people came to venerate Geshe-la’s relics and read about his life and reincarnation.

On that same day we released 400,000 lives as part of our regular animal liberation practice dedicated to the long lives of all kind and precious gurus.

We wish to thank everyone who made it possible for so many people in Singapore to venerate Geshe-la’s relics and receive great blessings. In particular to Khen Rinpoche Geshe Lama Lhundrup due to whose kindness this was made possible.

Choden Rinpoche visits LDC – April 2008

Once again we were so fortunate to have the opportunity to invite Choden Rinpoche to LDC and so blessed to receive the teachings on Heart Sutra and Clam Abiding. These 2 teachings are in fact the subjects from the Basic Foundation Course that LDC is conducting since January 2008 and all the students are indeed very fortunate to have the chance to receive direct teachings on these 2 topics. We also have the opportunity to receive the blessings of body, speech and mind of the Black Manjushri and many even had the opportunity to receive private blessing. Rinpoche also blessed the centre.

Rinpoche is very happy and his attendants expressed that this is one of the most enjoyable trip they have had. All the members, students and friends in LDC made their stay here in KL very comfortable and we all hope and pray that Rinpoche will again return to LDC soon.

At the same time, I had a surprise visitor who’s my former my classmate Chokor Rinpoche during Choden Rinpoche’s visit. He spend almost a month and even though I was busy with my duties in LDC and didn’t get a chance to attend to him but with the full support of our Venerables, I am sure Chokor Rinpoche enjoyed his stay and his wishes was fulfilled in every expect.

One of my friends, a Kopan monk also gave me a surprise visit and again due to my busy schedule I also didn’t spend much time with him but I hope he too enjoyed his stay in Malaysia.

Mandala Retreat – April 6, 2008

The day immediately after the BFC examination, we had a wonderful half day (3 – 9pm) merit accumulation mandala retreat. It was again very surprising and very inspiring after the many tiring days of studies and pressure from the exam, I didn’t expect many to turn up. However about 100 participants attended consisting of many regular members, senior people, young children plus many new faces. It was a very wonderful retreat. Everyone enjoyed it very much!

We combined the practice of Refuge & Bodhicitta and Mandala (37 heaps and 7 heaps) offering using the mandala base. Many have learned to use the base and ring and now everyone is a professional in the mandala practice. Hopefully we are able to start the actual 100,000 accumulation of preliminary retreat such as Mandala, Refuge & Bodhicitta and Prostration in the very near future.

We sincerely dedicate this extensive merit for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Khen Rinpoche, Phuntsok Rinpoche and all the holy gurus. We would also dedicate to the peace and liberation from the great sufferings of all beings and whatever problems that is happening in Tibet and other parts of the world.

Geshe Lobsang Sherab Visits Malaysia

The year 2008 continue to be happening! It was indeed a surprise for Geshe Lobsang Sherab to visit Malaysia through a private invitation for a holiday. I found out about his visit just one or two days before his arrival. I felt very happy that he is in Malaysia as he was the former resident teacher in LDC and I thought it would be a great opportunity to have a reunion among his students and friends and to remember his kindness of his one year service and teaching in LDC and representing our holy guru Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

On the first day of Geshe Sherab’s visit, we did an extensive guru puja especially dedicated to repay his kindness for all that he has done in that one year in LDC. Geshe Sherab participated happily in the puja.

As the present resident teachers in LDC now, it’s my responsibility to remember the kindness of all the past teachers who have thought in LDC as well as the past members who have served the centre. We therefore decided to have a reunion and welcoming dinner for Geshe Sherab together with all exco, old and new members. Geshe-la was very pleased and so was everyone. He also made connection with new students and members here. At the same time there were 2 other sanghas from Sera who’s visiting Malaysia and we also extended our invitation to them. We were friends from Sera and we had some great moments, chatting and recalling our past in the Monastery.

It was very unfortunately that I was so busy with the Losar and Chinese New Year schedule that I didn’t manage to spend much time with Geshe-la but I am certain he enjoyed himself to the fullest with his fun packed activities of visiting friend’s houses performing house blessing and pujas and holiday around the island of the east coast of Malaysia.

Geshe-la has now left for Singapore for about five days then will head back to Kopan Monastery. We all wish and pray for Geshe-la’s good health, long life and may he come back again and again to Malaysia.

Here are some pictures taken during Geshe Sherab’s visit.

2008 Losar Celebration

This year Losar falls into the same date as the Chinese New Year and it was one of the most memorable and meaningful new year celebration which was celebrated in LDC Malaysia. Due to the 15 merit multiplying days, we took the opportunity to invite more sanghas from overseas. This year we invited four nuns from Kopan Monastery for the benefit of world peace, peace in Malaysia including harmony and spiritual progress in our centres especially centres in Malaysia and to bring about great compassion into every living being’s heart.

We have initiated to construct a Chenrezig sand mandala and was successfully completed within 15 days. Over 100 people came to view and received blessings, made circumambulation and offerings. Since there was so much benefit even to view, we decided to keep the mandala for the whole year so that people can continue to view and make offerings. We plan to construct a mandala on an annual basis and next year we plan to construct a Medicine Buddha mandala.

At the same time, in the last 15 days of Losar, we perform extensive pujas and prayers such as Tara Puja, Medicine Buddha Puja, Protector Puja, Guru Puja, various recitation of sutra and mantra and teachings on the benefits and meanings of different prayers, extensive light offerings conjoined with circumambulation and prostration to the holy objects. It was amazing throughout the 15 days without any break. Sixty to hundred people attend each night.

It was really meaningful to see people are serious about accumulation of merit and purification and this was especially done by taking advantage of the miracle days. I sincerely rejoice and felt that this is something very wonderful. It wasn’t just me but many others felt the same with blessings granted and they have also expressed positive changes in their lives.

At the same time, we performed four to five pujas daily at member’s, friend’s houses and in LDC, not just here in the Klang Valley but also in Penang and Triang. All these were done with the help of the nuns from Kopan Monastery and sanghas of LDC, conjoined with the full support and assistance of centre members. Everything was perfect!

The nuns truly admire, appreciate and rejoice in this whole month, every day from morning to night performing prayers, constructing mandala, performing pujas and all these were done without any complain. Instead they express their happiness through their smile and mind. I was rather worried about their health as these nuns are small eaters and even when I asked them to take a break, they continued with their work. And due to Buddha’s blessings, I am very happy that they are healthy. Not only do they work hard, they are also very talented in all the different prayers and knowledge in dharma. I think this is my first time I spend time with my sister, who is the chanting master, Losang Drolma. I have heard a lot of good things about her but somehow due to my busy schedule in the past with my studies and now overseas, I don’t even have the chance to know her but now I had the whole month to do so. I am truly happy and admire her knowledge and her humble down to earth demeanour and that was really the best gift I ever received from her. Same goes to the other nuns, they are really wonderful.

At the same time, LDC sanghas worked very hard from their side assisting in whatever they can and without hesitation. Members also made tremendous effort to assist during this period when they could be having their holidays instead. I rejoice and rejoice and rejoice!

The nuns have left Malaysia and they are constructing another sand mandala in Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Singapore, China Town. They will then go to Thailand to construct a sand mandala in a Thai Temple.

This time I regard the Kopan nuns have open their doors to the Eastern countries like Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. In the previous years, they have travelled to Europe, Australia and America annually to perform different prayers and different arts like lama dance, cho dance and creating sand mandalas. These were all done to gain publicity and receive some financial assistance for the nunnery. and So this first visit of theirs went very well and they created much auspiciousness and I am sure this will bring them to the Asian countries. I can say the invitation of Kopan nuns is very successful and it has lead to many great benefit for their future. Khen Rinpoche appointed Chung Han as the coordinator in Malaysia, Benny Soh as coordinator in Singapore and Irene as coordinator in Thailand.
