Practices For Ailments

1. ''Tendrel Nyensel' Mantra blessed by Guru Padmasambhava.

“OM MUNI, MUNI, MAHA MUNI, DURU DURU, ZAYA MU KYE, SOHA.
Chi nang sang wei, tendrel nye tsok, tham chey, shi shing, lek tsok, tham chey, phel shing, gyey par, gur chig."

Recite this mantra 21 times.
This mantra has the power to clear past, present and future inauspicious circumstances that has happened, that is going to happen, that is happening and will actualize auspicious circumstances in all our past, present and future wishes.

2. The Mantra of Dependent Arising (Dharani of Dependent Origination)

"OM, YE DHARMA HETU PRABHAVA HETUN TESCHAN TATHAGATO HEY VADAT TESHAN CHA YO NIRODHA EVAM VADI MAHA SHRAMANAH YE SOHA”

In circumstances where one cannot find a Sangha to bless holy objects/stupas/malas, consecrate wealth cabinets, bless new house, new car etc. one can recite this mantra with the right motivation and after taking refuge in three jewels.

Before one opens and after closing one’s wealth cabinet, one is to recite 3-7 times The Mantra of Dependent Arising with offering of flower petals or rice grain. Conclude one’s prayers with positive and auspicious dedications and wishes.

3. Mantra for Sleep

"HEY HEY LAYO BAG TAYA"

This mantra is beneficial for those who have problems sleeping/sleep disorders.

Recite the above mantra 7 times and blow into a glass of water for consumption before sleep. Alternatively, place one's two hands to cover one's nostrils and mouth. Then, recite the mantra 7x and blow into one's hands which are covering one's nostrils and mouth and breathe in that air. In this way, the mantra-blessed air will be inhaled. Proceed to sleep.

2009 Chinese New Year and Losar Greetings

Dear friends, dharma brothers and sisters,

As we all know, last year has been quite a difficult year for many either financially or in many other different aspect. But we should realize these are all due to results of past karma in particularly result of the world collective karma.

I feel there is nothing to worry nor stressed up about because our negative karma’s has the ability to be purified. Even if it is definite karma to experience the result, by today, we may have purified that karma. So we have all the reasons to start a brand new year with a happy, joyous, hopes and inspiration in every aspect of our lives.

And at the same time, those who have specially karmic connection with me, I had the opportunity to do a 3 months retreat and I believe that I receive lots of blessing, and I have dedicated all the merit accumulated in that retreat plus whatever merits I have in the past to all students, friends, dharma brothers and sisters.

I wish everyone endless happiness, great prosperity, good health, great inspiration in spiritual path and long life for year 2009.

Not to worry but for the better future, for our special practice as well as prosperity in our worldly life, it comes out very beneficial for us to purify whatever that coming difficulties in 2009 is to engage in the practice of chanting 110 thousand Vajrasattva mantra .

Please click here for long and short Vajrasattva mantra.

Om Mani Padme Hum - Mantra of Compassionate Buddha

Acknowledgement to Ms. Ella Brewer for allowing us to use the material published in this blog. For more information on her work, please visit http://www.pureview.co.nz/

One of the most loved and universally chanted by Buddhist throughout the world. This mantra is commonly known as the Compassionate Buddha's mantra. The Compassionate Buddha, fondly known as Kuan Yin by the Chinese, Chenrezig by the Tibetan, Avalokiteshvara in the ancient Sanskrit of India or as Kannon in Japan.

This six syllable mantra might look very simple and easy to recite, but it consists of 84,000 teachings of Buddha, the essence of all Dharma. No matter how little compassion we generated in our daily lives, we certainly have ties and connection with the Compassionate Buddha without realising it.

As Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche has commented, just recite the mantra once, it purifies the four defeats of breaking the four root vows of self – liberation and the five uninterrupted negative karma. Even by reciting the mantra just one time, you collect the same merit as having made offering to an inconceivable number of Buddhas.
It is good to recite the mantra and contemplate the meaning of the six syllables.
The first syllables OM consisted of A, U and M. They symbolise our impure body, speech and mind and also the pure exalted body, speech and mind of a Buddha. No sentient beings in the beginning or eons and eons before are free from faults and possesses good quality. It is a gradual process of transformation of our body, speech and mind from impurity states into pure Dharma.

The 2nd and 3rd syllables MANI means Jewel, symbolises factors of methods, compassion and love, the altruistic intention to become enlightened. Just as a jewel is capable of removing poverty or difficulties, similarly just as a wish fulfilling jewel fulfills wishes of sentient beings and the altruistic intention to become enlightened not for oneself but for the benefit of all sentient beings. His Holiness the Dalai Lama commented.

The 4th & 5th syllables PADME means lotus and symbolises wisdom. Just as a beautiful lotus grows forth from mud and is unstained by the dirt. It is equivalent to wisdom which is capable of keeping us out from contradiction.

The last syllable HUM means inseparability or indivisibility of the unity of method and wisdom in order to achieve purity.

Thus the six syllables, OM MANI PADME HUM means that in depending on the practice of the path which is an indivisible union of method and wisdom, we can transform our impure body, speech and mind into pure exalted body, speech and mind of a Buddha.
