Choden Rinpoche visits LDC – April 2008

Once again we were so fortunate to have the opportunity to invite Choden Rinpoche to LDC and so blessed to receive the teachings on Heart Sutra and Clam Abiding. These 2 teachings are in fact the subjects from the Basic Foundation Course that LDC is conducting since January 2008 and all the students are indeed very fortunate to have the chance to receive direct teachings on these 2 topics. We also have the opportunity to receive the blessings of body, speech and mind of the Black Manjushri and many even had the opportunity to receive private blessing. Rinpoche also blessed the centre.

Rinpoche is very happy and his attendants expressed that this is one of the most enjoyable trip they have had. All the members, students and friends in LDC made their stay here in KL very comfortable and we all hope and pray that Rinpoche will again return to LDC soon.

At the same time, I had a surprise visitor who’s my former my classmate Chokor Rinpoche during Choden Rinpoche’s visit. He spend almost a month and even though I was busy with my duties in LDC and didn’t get a chance to attend to him but with the full support of our Venerables, I am sure Chokor Rinpoche enjoyed his stay and his wishes was fulfilled in every expect.

One of my friends, a Kopan monk also gave me a surprise visit and again due to my busy schedule I also didn’t spend much time with him but I hope he too enjoyed his stay in Malaysia.

Phone call to Tenzin Phuntsok Rinpoche (May 2008)

Few days ago I got a chance to speak to Phuntsok Rinpoche just before my brother Lhundrup left for Singapore for the late great Mahasiddha Geshe Lama Konchog’s relic exhibition to be hosted by ABC during the coming Wesak for 3 days, from 16 – 19 May in ABC’s new premises.

Phuntsok Rinpoche asked me about my health and if I am eating a lot and whether I have gain much weight in order to compete with him.

I also asked about his schooling (language) which started few months ago in Kopan. Phuntsok Rinpoche replied that he has been very happy and enjoyed his lessons. He has completed his homework and he received good comment from his teacher. He wanted to know what I will be rewarding him for his good performance. I told him I have just sent him a very interesting car and that he can only play on Saturdays. He however requested to play the car on the second half of the day as well. My reply was “yes”, as long as he has done his homework, he can play with the car anytime. I have also promised to bring him a helicopter after I see the end of his one year result. He said he will not disappoint me and asked when I will be going back. My answer was “soon”.

He then said “tashi delek” and “be fat” before he hung up.

I am extremely pleased to hear he’s doing great and he has improved in this studies as well. I am also very grateful with the divine blessings and also very thankful to the great care and proper guidance given by Khen Rinpoche as well as his guardian Thubten Lhundrup, Ani Chodron and Nyudrup Tsering.

CGC Fund Raising

This fund raising event organised by CGC, Penang was very successful. I can see the joy and smile on everyone’s face like Daniel who’s the director, his family members and all the fund raising committee, their family, student and friends of CGC.

They are very satisfied despite the hard work and tireless effort they have put in for the past months. Now that the event is over, they will all be able to sit back, relax and catch up on some good sleep to re-energize for the upcoming activities which are beneficial to the Penang members and students. I truly rejoice and very proud of the volunteers and on behalf of FPMT and Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, I sincerely thank all the supporters from Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and from other parts of the world to actualise this event and for ensuring that it is so successfully organized.

They are now looking for their own premises for CGC to expand which will only bring greater benefits to the larger number of people especially from Penang. I must say they are doing great. I pray day and night the CGC team can actualize their goal as soon as possible. I rejoice and rejoice!!

These pictures were taken by Bobby Yeoh during the fund raising dinner event.

Wesak Day - May 19, 2008

We are again, so fortunate due to the blessing to Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats, Gurus, dharma brothers and sisters and our past karma that we are still alive up to today and have the opportunity to celebrate this most auspicious Wesak day which every single moment of meritorious practice, it has the multiplying effect of numberless times. So therefore, on the morning of 19th May, it’s best to take the 8 Mahayana precept then do all the morning prayers, make a strong motivation from the very moment you wake up. You should think “may all my life time and specially every moment of this life in particularly in this year, this very day, whatever act of my body, speech and mind be a complete cause to actualise the completion stage of Buddhahood for myself and all living beings”.

This should include the making of offerings to the Buddhas and whatever virtuous practices that you can engage in particularly the practice of 6 perfections (generosity, morality, patience, joyous effort, wisdom and concentration). Here are some suggestion of what you can practise on Wesak day:-

If you wish to do particular prayer which has the special significance to oneself to establish great karmic affinity with Shakyamuni Buddha and to accumulate extensive merit, one can recite the Praises to Shakyamuni in 3 times (also known as “A prayer for the Beginning, Middle and End of Practice”) Please click here for prayers.

If you wish to recite Shakyamuni mantra, recite Tadyatha Om Muni Muni Maha Muniye Svaha as many times as possible.

If you wish to do meditation, meditate based on Shakyamuni Buddha.

And if you wish to recite any prayers, recite related to Shakyamuni Praises.

I would like to extend my great rejoice and happiness and auspicious Wesak Day 2008 to all my dharma brothers, sisters and all friends who log on to this blog.

I will be going to Singapore for a day visit on 16th May for the opening ceremony of the late Mahasiddha Geshe Lama Konchog’s relic exhibition in ABC and also to pay homage to Khen Rinpoche. 1st June is a very important day for all those who have spiritual connection with Khen Rinpoche and there is a Long life Puja in ABC which I and some friends will be organizing a day visit to attend this auspicious occasion which we so eagerly await.

Compact Disk Recording

I am very happy to actualize the recording of various prayers and pujas with intention to share, inspire and bring some benefits by only listening to the chanting in particular to those who needed them. This has been my long time wish and I am very happy that it’s now at the final stage of printing and will be completed by 14th May which will be launched on Wesak day both in Singapore and Malaysia simultaneously.

I have recorded all these chanting based on proper and pure traditionally unbroken lineage method for the entire sequence of the prayers, tune, motivation (while recording) and dedication. It is unlike the recording of the modern CDs you find today whereby their main focus is based on the music and different modern creation tunes.

So these sets of CDs which has been developed is something different and very rare. I like to reiterate that the recording of the CDs are conducted professionally and these prayers and chanting are all based and passed on through pure unbroken lineage.

There are a series of 4 CDs all together. Each chanting of the pujas are for different purpose. It also has great effect and blessings to actualize the purpose by the blessings of this proper and unbroken lineage and complete sequence.

Guru Puja

I have dedicated one CD for the extensive accumulation of merit based on Guru Yoga practice to actualize all your mundane and spiritual wish is the Guru Puja. Guru Puja contains 3 CDs in one pack.

Tara Puja

Tara Puja for the actualizing of one’s wishes instantly fulfilled such as spiritual realization and mundane (Business or Projects) purpose. Tara Puja contains 2 CDs in one pack.

Medicine Buddha Puja

Medicine Buddha Puja CD is for the cure of hindrance, physical and mental sickness in this life time and prevention of physical and mental sickness in future times. It also actualises one to have a long, healthy and meaningful life. Medicine Buddha Puja is in 1 CD.

Protector Puja

Protector Puja is to clear all the inner, outer and secret obstacles and to actualize the 4 activities like peaceful, increasing, controlling and wrathful. Protector Puja is also in 1 CD.

I will manage this project personally to establish funds for the coming new or any re production of these CDs. I am also going to use these funds from the sales for the charity purpose, especially all projects which are under my jurisdiction. If any of the FPMT centres or other centres, retail outlets who wishes to carry these ranges of CDs, kindly contact me through email @ tztzopa@yahoo.com .

Thank you.
